Since the global scrap price has increased by about US$20~US$40/ton, it pushed rebar price to go up currently in Taiwanese domestic market. Currently, the rebar price in Taiwanese domestic market is about NT$17,100~NT$17,200/ton but the new rebar price may go up again to NT$17,200~NT$17,400/ton in this week. However, the market situation for carbon steel hot roll coil (HRC) is not also good as rebar in Taiwanese domestic market. The HRC price has dropped from NT$18,500/ton to NT$18,300/ton after CSC's new price announcement. The situation means the current price gap between HRC and rebar in Taiwan domestic market might narrow down to only about NT$1,000/ton. In general, the reasonable price gap between HRC and rebar is about NT$1,000~NT$1,500/ton in Taiwan.
