US commercial vehicle components supplier Accuride has inked an agreement with Daimler Trucks North America for supplying cast-and-machined Gunite brake drums for the latter’s aftermarket parts group.

Under the pact, Accuride will provide brake drums for over-the-road tractor drive axle and trailer axle applications, offering original equipment maker (OEM) quality and reduced stopping distance (RSD) compliance.

The company would provide the brake drums from its Gunite wheel end component production unit in Rockford, Illinois.

Accuride president and CEO Rick Dauch Rick Dauch said, "We are pleased to have been chosen as Daimler's primary aftermarket wheel end supplier and appreciate this expression of confidence by Daimler Trucks North America in the quality, dependability and performance of our made-in-the-USA Gunite brake drums.

"Our investment in advanced machining technology and rigorous quality processes enables us to supply Daimler's aftermarket customers with OEM first-fit quality brake drums that affordably deliver the durability and stopping power they can count on mile after mile, under North America's toughest driving conditions."

Accuride has commercial vehicle wheels, wheel-end components and assemblies, and specialty cast-iron components under its product line. They are used in farm, construction and mining, and oil and gas equipment sectors.
